We discovered, some time ago, an open source Electronic Point of Sale(EPoS) application called Tina/Libre POS, when looking for a solution for a leading leisure industry client in Europe..., and since then have kept an eye on its progress. In the last few years the Tina/Libre POS project became Openbravo POS and has evolved into a very usable, mature and robust application. Still open source, and with almost 10,000 installations per month (according to Openbravo web site), we chose to use it as the basis of our enhanced POS solution for our Partner Tech project.
uniCenta oPOS is an amended and extended version of Openbravo POS and runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. It is a software-based Electronic Point of Sale(EPoS) application that replaces a proprietary hardware Electronic Cash Register(ECR) and developed in Java. Based on proven development standards – making it easier to manage - it can run on almost any Point of Sale hardware.
