Case Studies

Our Case Studies are not fictional and are taken from real-life scenario's, as you would expect.

As much as we believe in the benefits of Prince2; ITIL; Agile and all the other methods out there, there are times when even these fail and new approaches are needed and we even have a highly-qualified NLP people on-board to help both us and the client through the "sticky" patches when needed.

We believe in following the Problem : Reaction : Solution method and we have become (in) famous for using our analogy with motor cars to help explain certain things.  Everyone can associate with cars and amazingly, believe it or not, lots of the issues which occur in our business have exact parallels with which the client, usually, is able to personally identify.  We don't mean to be patronising... it's simply a great way of cutting through the technical guff for the non-technical.

Problem

Doesn't need much explanation. Does it? OK, just in case.

To us there are two distinct problem hemes: Solving or Resolving.

The two parts of this statement might seem similar, but they're hugely different to us.  How?   Well, let's say a project is in start-up and needs specialist skills to meet the stakeholders vision; then we go into Solving mode to find the needed solution.  On the other hand where a project gets stuck either because of poor project management, supplier or product failure then we engage our Resolving method.

We do have an understanding here though at uniCenta; we actually turn "Problems" into "Challenges".  In fact, checking back over the years and all our experiences we just haven't found anything that we couldn't redefine as a "Challenge".

Reaction

How we appraise the situation. Each one different.  Each one needing a different approach.  Great care is taken to understand the project and the weaknesses and the strengths, which exist in every project, so we can restore a balance.

Our first questions to you will always be "What is it you really want from the project?  And, what will it take for you to feel the project is a success?"

Solution

This is the simplest part; Achieving what you answered to our first questions!
